HAM AND CHEESE BUTTER SWIM BISCUITS
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Spray a 9x9-inch (oven-safe) glass or ceramic baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Prepare the Dough:
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
3. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until a sticky batter forms. If the batter seems too dry, add a little more buttermilk until the batter is thick and sticky.
4. Gently stir in the diced ham and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
Melt the Butter:
5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Pour the melted butter into the prepared baking dish.
Assemble and Bake:
6. Pour the biscuit dough into the baking dish, spreading it out evenly on top of the melted butter.
7. Cut the dough into 9 squares to help with cutting later after baking.
8. Bake on the middle oven rack for about 25-30 minutes, rotating the dish once during baking.
Check for Doneness:
9. If the biscuits are browning too quickly, cover them with foil for the remainder of the baking time. The biscuits should be golden brown on top and spring back to the touch. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, they are done!
Serve:
10. Slice and serve these warm, cheesy, and buttery biscuits for a delicious treat!
