French Butter Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Dough:
2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing just until the dough comes together.
Form the Cookies:
5. Roll the dough into a log about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
6. Once chilled, slice the dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
