Crispy Fried Chicken Tacos
In a medium bowl, marinate the chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. This helps tenderize the chicken and adds flavor.
Prepare the Coating:
2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Heat the Oil:
3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.
Coat and Fry the Chicken:
4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
5. Dredge the chicken pieces in the seasoned flour, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.
6. Carefully place the chicken strips into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
7. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
