Orange Magic Custard Bars Delight
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a square baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until creamy. Gradually add the melted butter, orange zest, and orange extract.
Slowly incorporate the flour and salt into the mixture, stirring until smooth.
Gently mix in the lukewarm milk, ensuring the batter is well combined. The mixture will be very liquid.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the egg whites into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the dish before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into squares.
